Posters

These are posters made as an example / template of how they could look just to demonstrate the colour of the posters.
These are just Drafts and can be changed easily to match with the style of the overall project. As these were created without knowing our overall style.

The fonts need changing as they aren't great.

Poster colour represents the Subject of each question.

Research into QR Codes

Further Research into how QR Codes came about and how they can be implemented into art installations and more...

QR Codes - How they came about?
QR stands for - Quick Response:

QR code is a specific matrix bar code (or two-dimensional code), readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera phones.

They are faster than standard Barcodes. They are very common in Japan and were first invented by a company called Denso-Wave which operates under it's parent Toyota. Since then QR codes have slowly made their way into the United Kingdom.

Later they have been used for advertising campaigns such as the Pepsi cans with a QR code on them without any explanation for people to "Decode" And find out what they were about.

Since then they have been used in various Art installations across the globe but still mainly in The East.

QR Codes - What came before them?
Before QR codes there was only Barcodes. Some bar codes can be quite long and take a long time to scan or can be quite hard to scan. Plus because of their length only some scanners can scan the longest ones.
QR codes are square and whatever size the code in most cases any scanner can scan a QR code.

QR Codes - Art Installations
Here are examples of art installations that use QR Codes.

The video above is a literal art installation using QR Code images in a shop/Gallery window. It's not too creative.

This video above, shows how QR codes in Japan can be used for a very mixed variety of things. Here relatives and friends can place QR codes on the graves of loved ones and see a picture of the person whose grave it is, Although quite morbid the idea and concept is there for the right reasons.

The last video above shows an art Installation called NeORIZON - by Maurice Benayoun It creates a QR Code image of the scanned persons face which is then extruded to make a QR Code 3D City.

Reasons for us choosing this technology...

We chose this because allot of people these days have QR code scanners on their phones, not many tend to use them due to the lack of the codes around in their daily lives. This inclusion would bring attention to the technology. Not only is it a useful way of linking the user to a website or image the speed in which they can see the poster then scan the code is so fast they can be at the website in a matter of seconds.
